Why am I angry?

Inspired by a post on my FB feed this morning (Why are you so angry: A short history of Anita Sarkeesian)

Now, I am not as angry as Anita Sarkeesian, and she probably has more right than me to be angry. But sometimes when I air my opinions I get the same question; why am I so angry?

Maybe because women still are considered second rate citizens. Because women who speak up are subjected to threats. Because women are living in fear of abuse and rape every day. Because in conflict areas rape and sexual violence are considered part of the strategy. Because young girls are mutilated and forced into marriage.

Why am I angry?

Because people are persecuted in large parts of the world because who they fall in love with. Because being gay is against the law in many countries. Because people are killed for being homosexual.

Why am I angry?

Because people are killed for their beliefs. Or their lack of beliefs.

Why am I angry?

Because global warming is a fact, and a real threat. And our politicians are not doing nearly enough about it.

Why am I angry?

Because social and economic inequality have reach gargantuan proportions. Because banks and financial institutions are thriving, while many countries are forced into austerity which affects the weakest in society.

Why am I angry?

Because animals are hunted into extinction, while their habitats are exploited.

Why am I angry?

Why?
